He Lives, Happy Easter

Howdy,

This is the start of my 4th week in the field and I'm loving it all. This week went by so fast but I've come to love this biking area and I love the people we have an amazing ward.

I really enjoyed Easter. Not a lot happened it seemed this week we did a lot of service this week though and that was fun. We helped at the food bank move stuff around, and helped with the computers.  We got lots of contacts from people because of the Easter season we had a ward breakfast and egg hunt and then we had a party at a members house on Saturday.  Then on Sunday we went over there again for another party and the reason we are able to go is because of investigators or just their non member neighbors and it was a lot of fun it felt like home to sit around the fire and talk lol.

I'm still learning and growing lots I've been reading my scriptures, my preach my gospel book, and a few other books like true to the faith a lot.  I get so much enlightenment from them and we can learn so much about ourselves and even how we can improve and it truly brings me happiness.

Something I love is we can compare ourselves a lot to Nephi or Lamen and Lemual for example in 1 Nephi 17:2-3 is the account of Nephi and in 17:20-21 is the account of the same thing just from Lamen and Lemual the lesson we can learn from this is if we can see God in our lives in everything we do and count our blessings and our tender mercies we will find true happiness and growth even in times of trials. But if we like unto Lamen and Lemual their happiness is always somewhere else they always say they'd be happier or will be happier if such and such will happen and their happiness is also focused of worldly things like their money and items I have truly come to see the difference between eternal happiness and temporary pleasure and I have also come to realize the only way to achieve eternal happiness is through God and his son Jesus Christ and his teachings and making them the center of our lives and like I've said before when we turn outward and focus on others or even Christ when we look back we see how far we have come and have been blessed in our lives. I challenge all of you just like the prophet asked us to read and reread the book of Mormon and I testify to you as you do that not only will you come to know the divinity of it and its truth you will come closer to Christ you will be strengthened and you will find eternal happiness and greatness. I love you all so very much and miss you I hope you all have wonderful and amazing weeks and God be with you till we meet again.

Colorado Springs - Bike Area

Hello friends and family,

I've been in Colorado for one week now and its very different from Oregon but i like it. I'm in a bike only area is about 3-4 miles long and about 2-3 miles wide and I live near the middle top so Colorado is all a big hill or slope and I live near the top slope of my area so I ride down hill to appointments then back up hill with a head wind to another lol.

1st day in Colorado Springs, CO

But its fun and I enjoy it the people here are very awesome most of our work in the area isn't a lot of trackting or investigators it's less actives and part member families. My companion is nice and we have fun his name is Elder McCall, he's from Burley, Idaho and is a mountain biker so trying to keep up is fun plus I haven't acclimated yet and the elevation change is huge from Oregon.

Elder McCall & Elder Bowles

So here is a fun little fact our mission has the biggest fleet of mission cars in the world and I'm in an only biking area lol. I'll be here for at least 2 transfers maybe even 3 so 12 plus weeks.

My Bike Helmet

We have the nicest and most expensive apartments in the whole mission. We have a stove, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer and a nice bathroom and there's a computer lab and( a pool and hot tub I wish I could use ).   My companion started the dishwasher the other day and put the wrong soap in.  That was fun.
My companion Used the wrong soap Brilliant!
I loved conference this weekend.  I liked the part where they talked about how we need to start from the basics no matter how long we have been members reread the BOM (Book of Mormon)  and act like an investigator reconvert our selves. I also liked the quote "let go of the world to hang on to eternity"
Oh and it snowed for like 2 days and melted lol the weather here is crazy, its so flat you can see for miles but can be very windy.

Representing Oregon Well

There is one hill above our apartments where alot of members live called Peterson and it sucks especially when I have to go to the bottom of my area then back up to Peterson it's like 4 Miles uphill with a head wind. But all in all I love it here and I will send pics and fill you in when I meet more people and such.
I love you all and God be with you till we meet again.
